One thing that we all have in common is experiencing some sort of pain.  September is National Pain Awareness Month and knowing more about different causes and types of pain can be helpful.  People can experience nerve, muscle, bone, and organ pain, headaches, cancer pain and much more.  Acute pain comes on suddenly and has a shorter duration while chronic pain lasts longer and at times is resistant to medical treatment.  Physical Therapists are trained to help you understand and treat whatever type of pain you are having using different techniques such as modalities, massage, stretching, and/or exercises.
