Have you heard of Lymphodema?  Lymphodema is the buildup of fluid called lymph in the tissues under your skin when something blocks its normal flow.  This causes swelling, most commonly in an arm or leg.  This is most commonly caused by surgery, cancer, radiation treatments for cancer and infection.  Occupational and Physical Therapists can be Lymphodema Certified and complete manual techniques and wrapping to assist in reducing the swelling.
