Hello friends and family members of Kensington Place!

I am going to be daring and say, "Happy Spring!"  It may not feel like spring, but it feels good to know it's coming soon!

We continue to take baby steps towards more normal times.  Everyone is enjoying eating in the dining room again, playing bingo and crafting in socially distanced groups, and having indoor visits with loved ones.  We have welcomed a few new member to our community, and are excited to get to know each other better!  On this note we congratulate Ashley and Cory Hammer on the arrival of their baby boy, Cooper James Michael.  Everyone is doing great!

A few things to know:

  • North East Iowa Podiatry will be coming to Kensington Place for a toenail clinic, beginning April 29th.  We are happy to be able to offer this service to our community members.
  • We have increased the time frame for indoor visits to 30 minutes.  We hope this allows for an even more enjoyable visit.  As a reminder, all visitors must wear a mask at all times, even if vaccinated, be screened into the facility by staff, sanitize your hands before entry, and maintain 6 feet social distancing.  Visitors will be escorted to the visitation room and then out of the facility when the visit is complete.  Thanks for understanding!  We're enjoying seeing your faces in our building again!
  • We are regulated by the state of Iowa, which means that all of our policies and protocols come down from them.  We expect that there will be changes in the future, but we do not know what that entails.  We all hope, along with you, that our circumstances will continue to look brighter in the days ahead.  Thanks for all of your patience and support as we continue to trudge through the unknown.
  • Be watching for articles in the New Hampton Newspaper twice per month from New Hampton Nursing and Rehab Center and Kensington Place!
