Hello everyone,

All continues to be well at Kensington Place.  We know the past few months have been difficult for our tenants and families, and we appreciate your willingness to cooperate to keep everyone safe.  As you may have heard, the Governor announced that long term care and assisted living facilities will be working towards reopening.  We appreciate your patience during this time, as the phase progression involves rigorous criteria that presents challenges that we are working through.    Please know that we will notify you as soon as we are able to progress to the next phase.  Tenants and staff alike are looking forward to that day with you.

As a reminder, we continue to offer Skype calls, email, and window visits to help you connect with your loved ones.  HappyGrams are another great option, and our tenants love to receive them.  Please keep an eye on our Facebook page, as we try to keep it updated with pictures of your loved ones.

We have been thankful for the warm weather and the chance to get outside.  Our awesome Activity Director, Michelle Orthaus, has been working overtime to keep everyone busy and happy, including ice cream floats outside, s'mores, nail painting days, bingo twice a week with social distancing, individual crafts in tenant apartments, pulling up church services, assistance with tablets and helping connect with your loved ones.  I am sure she could use a clone about now.  Please give her a special thanks next time you see her!  She has definitely helped make lemonade out of lemons!

I also want to give a shout out to all the family members who have been bringing us iced coffees, cookies, cards, cinnamon rolls, snacks, masks and more!  We cannot tell you how much these gifts have lifted our spirits!  We are blessed with the best friends and families here at Kensington!

Again, we appreciate your patience and understanding, as we know this is getting very long.  We look forward to the day our families can walk in our doors again.

Stay strong!

Your Kensington Place Family
