Notes from Nursing

     As many of you know the facility is currently making a lot of changes to protect our resident population.  At this time we are not allowing visitors per CMS guidelines due to the significant risk COVID-19 poses to the elderly population.  Presently, there is no cure or vaccination for COVID-19, so infection prevention and control measures are our top priority.  All of our staff and vendors are thoroughly screened for respiratory symptoms prior to being allowed in the facility.  We are also monitoring every resident daily for signs of COVID-19.  We will continue to follow recommendations from Iowa Healthcare Association, Iowa Department of Public Health, and CMS regarding nursing home protocols for prevention and treatment of COVID-19.  Residents are only allowed to leave the facility for essential appointments, per CMS.  All non-essential appointments will need to be rescheduled for the safety of our residents.  Please continue to send cards, call, talk to your loved ones through the window, and make Skype appointments to visit with your loved ones.  We are very appreciative of your understanding and support during these changes.
