Activities in Action
Fall is upon us! During the month of September, we celebrate a day that is very special to our residents, Grandparents Day! This day is celebrated on Sunday, September 12th. Brooke, our interim activity assistant will be leading a Grandparent’s Day social with pastries, coffee, and great conversations about the joys of being a Grandparent. This month we also celebrate all the American workers. Activities to celebrate Labor Day include a would you rather Labor Day addition, trivia on many different professions, and a game called tools of the trade where you guess the profession-based clues.
Did you know September is apple season?! Residents will be trying different apple recipes such as apple pie in a cup and apple donuts with a twist. Apple tree painting, apple picking, and an apple science experiment are the among the other apple related activities residents will participate in throughout the month. We are excited to take a few residents to a “Chicken Dance” on Thursday, September 9th. The Chicken Dance is an event put on by 95.1 The Bull and New Horizon-Chamber in memory of Bob Svec. Anyone is welcome to join at 10:00 am at the Hugebacks parking lot.
Lastly, I would like to thank Brooke Bemiss- Thompson for stepping in as interim activity assistant until we get a full time Activity Director. Brooke has been a great help providing our residents with daily activities.
Make it a great month!
